Which are the Best Acne Treatments?
For the many millions of people worldwide who suffer with acne, the fact that it is the most common of all skin complaints is no consolation and it is not solely a condition suffered by young people. Although it is most common in teenagers it can still affect anyone and with almost nine out of every ten people having to deal with it at some point it is probably the prevalent condition on the planet.
Our bodies produce oil called sebum which is quite normal but sometimes we produce too much and this clogs the hair follicles which can be one of the causes of acne but excess oil is not the only cause nor does it mean that someone who has excess oil in their hair follicles will develop acne. It is this oil which is trapped inside the pores which creates the recognizable pimple but this seems to be a more modern condition amongst the population.
Clogged pores can also be caused by things like makeup, atmospheric pollution and the reason more young people seem to suffer with it, hormone adjustments but at least it is a treatable condition. Other factors can be responsible to, like the consumption of too much junk and reprocessed food, which is high in unhealthy sugars.
When people have more stubborn cases of acne it is left to a dermatologist to prescribe a stronger remedy which may require a longer period of use. Usually, follow-up visits will be necessary to that the acne is being cured without further intervention being required. During this time in particular it is important to ensure that fingernails are cleaned thoroughly and regularly as they harbor dirt, germs and bacteria that can aggravate the condition.
The problem comes about because most people do not realize that bacteria and germs cannot normally be seen by the naked eye and they believe if their nails look clean they are safe. This is why an acne sufferer should avoid any direct contact between their hand and the blemished area.
Research has shown that if your parents had acne, you’ll probably have it as well and very few people have perfect skin, so it is a very common skin disorder among almost every single person. The most likely scenario is that you will contact acne while you are young probably around puberty. If necessary, acne sufferers should consult a dermatologist or qualified physician for acne treatment.
