There are times when I just would love to lay out on a warm beach or sit in the shade by a pool, reading a good book. I figure I’m like most everyone else in needing to keep a careful watch over the budget. Admittedly flying to exotic resorts may not be in our budgets this year. However, if we can carve out some vacation money, I can suggest a few vacations where you will find warm weather, water and have at least some chance of trimming the budget.

There are quite a number of options in vacation destinations in that part of the world. Consider also Jamaica and Playa del Carmen. But research carefully your intended destination, not only to ensure a safe and trouble-free trip but also to learn about the area (culture, history, interesting attractions, etc.) to make the trip more fun. Of course the internet makes this kind of research amazingly easy; what did we do before the Web came along?
